Congratulations Brendan Moore

Congratulations to Brendan Moore, who last night was presented with the  the Laurie Smallhorn Award for 2008 at the Tasmanian AHL Presentaion Dinner.
This award is for outstanding contribution to the AHL teams, particularly behind the scenes. Brendan's passion in ensuring Tasmania has teams playing at the highest level is evident in his dedication and commitment as a member of the AHL committee and his support and encouragment he has shown to our Tassie Tiger and Van Demons for many years.

University Belted!

Despite not playing as well as in previous weeks the Bulldogs notched up an easy 7-1 win over University.  The victory was set up early with the dogs recording two goals within the first 5 minutes.  The game was far from the epic NWG v Uni clashes of the past with no stand out players or passages of play to mention.
This win continues the recent good form of the Bulldogs heading into the final round.

Umpiring course - beginner level

Hockey South will be running a Beginner level (the old level 1) umpiring course next Wednesday (9th July) from 6pm in one of the computer labs at Elizabeth College. It shouldn't go for more than a couple of hours. Ange Street will be facilitating the course, where we will work through the online section of the course on the Hockey Australia website.

What's involved: A couple of hours for one night, and umpiring one or two games to complete the practical component of the accreditation.

How much? The cost for doing the course is $50.00, but Hockey Tas and Hockey South will both refund $25.00 each when you have successfully completed the course.

What's in it for me? You will learn useful things to help you with your umpiring and you will be recognised by Hockey Australia as being an accredited umpire When you successfully complete the course you will be reimbursed the $50.00, so essentially it doesn't cost you (or your parents!) anything You be entitled to a complimentary Hockey South season's pass (which includes finals) for 2009 (and as long as your accreditation is current)

What do I need to do?    Check to make sure you're available on 9th July from 6pm til about 8.30pm Email Imogen Wright to register your interest – she will need to give you some more instructions to log onto the website so your account is set up before the night.
