URGENT - WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THESE PROPOSALS FOR SEASON 2009?

2009 brings in a new era of Hockey administration and clubs have been asked for their thoughts on possible changes.  The main points are outlined below – if you have any strong opinions either way please let Brendan (brendan@bmoorefinancial.com.au) (or phone 0418 121 862 ) know by Monday 27th October so that NWG can present a club view rather than the view of individuals

  1. Refine under-age groupings to have more even competitions (so no extreme scores)
  2. Play 1st & 1st Reserve Grade games on Friday nights (would mean one sixth of games for each team on Friday rather than Saturday) Indicate if you would prefer a Friday club double header of Men & Women or 1st Grade & 1st Reserves.

(As a result of point 2, fewer under-age games would be played on Friday night – would be played on Sunday – U13 boys would most likely be the group affected by this)

  1. Move U11 boys from late Saturday to Sunday mornings thereby allowing both Men’s & Women’s 4th Grade to have regular Saturday time slots rather than be moved around.
  2. Move all school Div 1 to Fridays and start the top under-age rosters earlier on Mondays thereby allowing Women’s 3rd Grade to keep playing on Mondays.
  3.  For 1st (and maybe 1st Reserve) Grades, have three rounds only with breaks for a state-wide competition of some sort.
  4. For 1st and 1st Reserve Grades reduce training to three sessions every two weeks rather than four sessions thereby freeing up Tuesday turf time for a midweek roster.

Please feel free to make any other suggestions you feel may be worthy of consideration.
