The annual HS Presentation evening was held last night at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre.
Our Club was awarded the Ron Mills trophy for the Best Performed Club in Juniors in 2011. What a fantastic effort and a fitting reward to all those who, coach, manage, organise and just generally support our junior teams. Well done!!!
NWG players and teams were recognised with the following awards.
Brendan Moore received the Dean Williams award for his outstanding contributions to hockey, not only has Brendan been our esteemed club President this year, but he has also been the Tournament Director for the National U18 Championships in Hobart, Convenor of the Officiating Committee, NWG representative on the Southern Competitions committee, a member of the AHL fundraising committee and has umpired, officiated and just generally helped out whenever the need arose. A well deserved honour for Brendan.
Tara Moore won the award for the Highest Goal scorer in A grade women with 20 goals for the season – great effort Totes we will expect a couple more goals in the finals
Lucy Elder was the joint Best and Fairest for 4th Grade women - well done Lucy!
Brodie Foster, from U18 boys was rewarded with a Certificate of Appreciation for volunteering his services at U18, AHL, Slikstiks and a number of other contributions. Brodie was certainly the youngest award winner on the night – we are very proud of you Brodie
Michelle Cooling also received recognition by way of a Certificate of Appreciation for the Media support she provided at U18 and AHL
John Pearce was also awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for his assistance at the U18 championships.
Greg Brown was nominated and received a certificate for the Coach of the Year (won by Nick Tremayne) for his coaching contributions over a prolonged period, including coaching State teams, several A grade Club teams and his work developing junior players technique and skills.
A reserve Women received the minor premiership trophy for that grade.
